Tips & Tidbits
A FEW GOOD TIDBITS
Store your barbecue utensils inside the grill.
Place a small shelf above a doorway or window for storing books or
trophies.
Use baby food jars, baby wipe boxes, shoe-boxes; ice cube containers and
wicker baskets as inexpensive organizing tools.
Pegboards can be used outside the garage for craft centers, children's
playrooms, and desk storage.
Store take-out menus and pizza coupons in a three-ring binder with plastic
sleeves.
Hang a small canvas tote on the doorknob of your child's room. Items
placed there can be easily put away at the end of the day.
Time To Change Seasons
As summer begins, it's time to think about warmer
temperatures, kids out of school, and a much needed
vacation. Summer is a great time to enjoy the
outdoors...take a picnic and save a little extra money. .
Here are a few ideas to get you motivated!
- Save the cardboard six-pack containers or drink
caddy;s you get at the Drive-dru for picnic utensils
like napkins, forks, and cups. They are also
cheap containers for crayons, chalk, paper and
paints to take to the park.
- Setting aside one weekend morning to do your
cooking for the week will save time and
frustration. Cooking several pounds of ground
beef at once can put several meals on the table
in a flash. Just separate into zip lock baggies
and freeze.
- Keep a change of clothes, several towels, and
some spare play toys in the car at all times in
case you see a park or picnic area.
Hmm....
"Organizing is what you do before you do
something, so that when you do it, it is not
all mixed up."
A.A. Milne (English humorist, creator of Winnie
The Pooh, 1882-1956)
Hang inexpensive clip
boards to showcase your
child's artwork. This is a
very affordable and
interchangeable solution
to framing. As we all
know, small children love
to make things and it will
give your refrigerator a
well deserved rest!
The kitchen in most homes is the busiest
room in the house. Here are two great
ways to use the inside of a cabinet door
for unexpected storage!
Cover cork board squares with fun and
beautiful fabric and adhere to the inside of a
cabinet door. Use push pins to secure a
calendar of events, grocery list, To-Do lists,
and special pictures.
Attach a hanging shoe organizer on the inside
of the pantry door to store small items such as
pudding boxes, granola bars, and baking items.
